The Pro Rail Rider Tool is a precision alignment aid for Derby car builders, designed to set axle alignment using the Rail-Rider method for a straight, fast car even without a test track. It supports axle canting of 1.5° or 2.5°, with alignment adjustments that are straightforward and designed to reduce friction across the car. A Pro Axle Press is required to use the tool.
For fine-tuning, a 3/16″ strip of business card placed around the axle head adds about 0.5° of cant, expanding the tuning options to 1.5°, 2.0°, 2.5°, and 3.0°. This approach makes it easier to dial in precise alignment and achieve consistent, fast performance on race day without a test track.
